As my flight approaches, I am filled with the nerves of having to sit still for 18 hours. The flight, in my opinion, is the worst part; the anticipation of getting to your destination takes over your body, and you just have to wait. Everything that accompanies a flight just gives me anxiety. What if I forget t-shirts like I did the time I went to Oregon. There are so many tiny things that can go wrong. Am I going to forget deodorant and live my biggest fear of smelling bad?
My time in India will be spent teaching English to students at different schools. My first project is in Adipur, where I will be teaching girls around the pre-teen age. My second teaching opportunity will be in Delhi, with Teach for India. My hopes for this trip is to gain close connections with the kids and be able to support them through education and make them look forward to learning.
I will also be doing a wellness retreat with my mom. We are ecstatic that we will be wearing matching outfits and doing yoga from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. My goal for this retreat is to be able to focus more, and gain a deeper understanding of how to take care of myself.
