Teach for India 2025 – Day 3/4

It’s the start of the week which means a new goal for the week. This week’s goal is to be more attentive during lessons and focusing on ensuring every kid is on task.

For my third day, I arrive like every day and go upstairs to the 8th grade classroom. However, today is a little different, I will be aiding in science for three periods with the 8th graders, instead of going to math with the 7th graders. The topic they are studying is the nitrogen cycle and my fellow took the lead on the lesson. To support her and complete my goal I walked around the room, ending side conversations, and checking everyone’s work.

It was a very simple day, and I think I am almost past the part where the 8th graders intimidate me!

Day 4 was a relaxed day as well, it was a testing day. My job was to walk around the room and make sure no students were cheating. The students think I am blind, their cheating strategies are not the best. They fully turn to the other student and show their paper. In the span of the hours I am pretty sure I got 10k steps.
